Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill Take Top Spots on IPL 2026 Orange Cap Table

Despite their team’s loss to Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, Gujarat Titans’ openers, B Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, have taken the top two spots on the IPL 2026 Orange Cap table.

Orange Cap Leaderboard

Sai Sudharsan, who was forced to retire hurt after being struck by a Kartik Tyagi delivery, returned to bat in the 17th over and scored 30 more runs off 15 balls to finish unbeaten on 53 off 28. This took his aggregate for the season up to 554, and the top spot on the run-scorers’ table.

Gill’s third 80-plus score of the season lifted him to second spot, with 552 runs. Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who is the only other batter with 500-plus runs this season with 508, was temporarily pushed down to third place.

Rounding off the top five were Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Klaasen’s colleague Abhishek Sharma; Kohli has 484 runs and Abhishek 481.

Purple Cap Leaderboard

There was little change in the Purple Cap leaderboard, with Rashid Khan and Tyagi remaining in a group of four at 16 wickets after going wicketless. Kagiso Rabada also went without a wicket to remain in second place.

Rashid and Tyagi, along with Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants and SRH’s Eshan Malinga, are only below the top three of RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with 22 wickets, followed by Rabada, who has 21, and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings, with 19.
